Welcome to Valley Stage 2012

green alternative powered solar music festival huntington vermontThe sixth annual Valley Stage Music Festival took place in the Huntington Valley and again was fortunate to have a stellar Summer Day. The great music and food were supplemented by vendors and sponsors with green/ sustainability themes. Once again, we will be looking to maintain a focus on green organizations and their efforts while presenting some great music in a beautiful setting for music, food and family fun. We’re repeating last year’s effort by powering the stage with a renewable energy source provided by Green Mt. Power.

Local fiddler Katie Trautz, known nationally for sharing traditional music and original folk songs, will usher in this year's festival.  The beautifully harmonizing trio Phineas Gage from just over the hill in Waitsfield will begin performing around 1:00 pm followed by Vermont's own eclectic bluegrass/jazz/cowboy folk ensemble After the Rodeo at 2:45 pm. We're very excited to have the Brooklyn based band The Woes who will most certainly get people dancing around 4:45 pm.  They bring a mix of country-soul, blues-rock, and big-band jazz that just won't quit.  Headlining this year's show is Valley Stage favorites Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem who are back for a third time. They'll finish up the evening beginning around 7:00 pm and will be featuring old "mayhem" standards along with new tunes from their recently released "Ranky Tanky".

This year's August 4th event promises to be even bigger as there will be four acts and lots of food and fun for the whole family. The Valley Stage is proud to be sponsored by Huntington Valley Arts, a not for profit organization.
