Sited as a “road warrior”, Garrin Benfield has performed with Boz Scaggs, Mother Hips and Buckwheat Zydeco among others. He plays freestyle acoustic rock which has been deemed earthy, ethereal and innovative.

Kind of like Jeff Buckley meets Steven Stills, meets Neil Young. Mellow yet intense, the music has a psychedelic quality that is compelling and exciting in an unpredictable way. He’s been a “house” favorite when performing at “On the Rise” down the road in Richmond and his first performance at the Valley Stage is not to be missed.

His mix of straight ahead acoustic renderings accompanied by a strong and steady voice intermixed with musings that incorporate the multi layering of guitar forms/passages/progressions/leads and bass underpinnings demands that the audience pay attention or miss a show which leaves one knowing he/she just witnessed something unique and memorable.
