THE VALLEY STAGE GOES GREEN

The second annual Valley Stage took place in the beautiful Huntington Valley on one of the many perfect daAltys we had last summer. The turnout was about double that of our inaugural show. We plan to make '08 even bigger as there will be a theme this year; Eco-conscious Sustainability. In addition to the great music and food vendors there will be businesses and organizations presenting their "Green" initiatives.

The Valley Stage itself will be solar powered this year. The festival will also be a forum for providers of "green/sustainability" initiatives to present their services and products. They will be bringing their message of alternative, responsible lifestyle choices to the attention of those who attend this annual event. They will be in a position to answer questions and suggest viable and cost effective solutions to different aspects of our everyday lives.

The day's performances will begin around 1:00 p.m. with Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats w/Susannah Blachly followed by Anais Mitchell at 2:45, return artists Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem at 4:45 and the headliners this year; the Duhks at 7:00p.m.

Bands 2008

There will be Cape Breton fiddling again this year in between sets performed by Duncan Yandell and food vendors will provide all kinds of tasty delights for most of the day's activities.

This year's August 16th event promises to be even bigger as there will be four acts and lots of food and fun for the whole family.

The Valley Stage is proud to be sponsored by Huntington Valley Arts, a not for profit organization. No Pets Please

"The setting is to die for. Mountains in the background. Sound was fabulous. I mean, there was an "intimate" crowd that I had to play for, as I was the replacement headliner for their first year, and still it felt like some great cross between some grand festival and, well, home..."

-Vance Gilbert, 2006 Headliner

"What a lovely spot, a great audience & a totally chilled out scene for music."

- Rani Arbo, 2007

"We had a great time at the festival...it was some of the best outdoor sound we've heard."

- Ed Gerhard, 2007

"This is one of the most beautiful places...in the world.  We'll be spreadin' the word, Valley Stage has one of the nicest settings and some of the best sound going."

- The Greencards, 2007
