The Ethan Setiawan Band is a Boston based group of musicians that have been creating music together ever since they started studying at the Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory. The band features original music rooted in bluegrass and fiddle traditions as well as drawing from inspirations from around the world.
Whether they are celebrating a melody or soaring high on improvisational creations, The Ethan Setiawan Band offers a fresh new perspective on string band music. Sam Leslie on guitar is the RockyGrass 2017 Flat-pick Guitar and 2018 Mandolin Champion. Ethan Setiawan on mandolin has won such accolades as the National Mandolin Championship and the RockyGrass Mandolin Championship. Dan Klingsberg on bass is well versed in jazz and classical bass but has found a deep passion for old time fiddle music. Julian Pinelli is a free-spirited violinist who spins deep tone with modern ease.
